Access Lighting Desk Lamp Halogen Blub Difference

Thursday, October 19th, 2006

I’m trying to decided between two Access Lighting products: the Flamingo Contemporary Desk Lamp - AC-50374 or the Stork Contemporary Desk Lamp - AC-50395. The Flamingo comes with a “50W G-8 110v halogen” bulb, while the Stork comes with a “100W T3 J78mm halogen” bulb. Can you please tell me the general difference between these bulbs?

Aside from the bulbs, are there any other significant differences between the two lamps?

Answer:
The AC-50395 (Stork) is more popular with Access Lighting because it has brighter light. This blub is tubular The AC-50374 (Flamingo) has a bi-pin light bulb. The light bulbs on each of the fixtures are very easy to find, as you can purchase them at Walmart, or your local hardware store. The Stork model comes in other finish options while the Flamingo only comes a brushed steel finish.

Also, both of these items are confirmed in stock, so they can ship directly from Access Lighting who is located in CA, in 3-5 business days.

Nora Lighting Track Options

Thursday, October 12th, 2006

I was wondering if the LBL Lighting monorail lighting kit item# fusionkit4rd - 4 telescoping rigid standoffs, were shown in the web site photo because the describtion states that this kit comes with 4. I need to mount this fixture to a 24″ dia column to sit on top of the column. Please see the attached drawing also are there any cheaper type of lamp heads available?

Answer:
This single circuit monorail system is in the low voltage 12V. Yes the rigid standoffs are shown in the picture.
If you really need something cheaper. I would recommend 120V line voltage system from Nora Lighting manufacturer. Please note that in order to help you determine which high or low voltage to use, you basically needs to decided what type of lamp and fixture can suit your need. Low voltage fixtures can control the light spread better.Nora Lighting items are here:

As for the monorail, you can just buy the straight monorail and curve the monorail against a round object in the field for both brands.

LBL Lighting Wall Sconce

Thursday, October 12th, 2006

Are these xelogen lights, the brand is LBL Lighting, contemporary wall sconce model HW221, ideal for bathroom vanity where I can use them as make up light? What is it’s real color rendering index? Normally, 4100-5000K is important for color discrimination.I plan on having 2 of them on 2 side of the wall (width 6′ vanity). I actually have another recessed light on top of the vanity as well. What’s your suggestion?

Answer:
I was not able to reach LBL Lighting technical support to get the color rendering index value for Xelogen bulb. In general, I would recommend that you have a total of 250W or 300W in the surrounding area for make up.

Tuesday, October 10th, 2006

Answer:
Unfortuantely, the canopies we sell will not allow you to convert plug-in pendants into hard-wired fixtures. I would recommend that you look into your local stores first.

Maxim Lighting Finish Color Clarification

Friday, October 6th, 2006

Maxim Lighting Cosmopolitan Pendant Light - MX-11269-FI-GC It says the finish is Grand Canyon. I am interested in the above lighting fixture but want to know the true color. This finish looks antique brass or antique gold; however, the sample finish provided on your website looks green with hints of gold. Can you tell me what the Grand Canyon finish is really like?

Answer:
The Maxim Lighting Grand Canyon finish is not as green as it appears on the computer monitor. It is lighter by quite a few shades. It’s more like tan color with a very very very slight green hue; close to the “Daily Lily” finish with the crackled pattern. Hope that gives you a better idea about what the finish looks like.
