I Need An Up Light Fixture

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

I am looking for a lighting fixture referred to as an “up light.” This would be a small can (or similar) that is located on the floor and shines up to accent a plant or wash a wall with light. I need the case to be black.I tried to find something of this sort on your site, but either I’m using the wrong descriptive words or you don’t carry anything like this. And your site is so huge, I find that hard to believe! Can you please recommend a light?

Answer: We suggest some of the following lights from our site like the Landscape/Outdoor Spotlight - SPJ16-04 or anything from our outdoor spotlight page.

Cal Lighting Buffet Lamp Shade Color

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

What color is the lamp shade for the Cal Lighting Regency Collection Buffet — BO-885-BF. I am unable to determine from website picture. Thanks.

Answer: This Cal Lighting buffet lamp has a  chocolate brownish shade; the leaves are a little copper brown. Also the fabric is thick that it does not let much light through. We hope this answered your question.

Varieties Of Wrought Iron Wall Sconces

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

I love your selection of wall sconces. I am looking for a pair of dark finish (like wrought iron or bronze) wall sconces that have an on/off switch on them. It doesn’t matter if they are rotary or pull chain. I have found many of your sconces that I love, but it is unclear to me if any have switches or if they all require a wall switch. Thank you so much for your time.

Answer: Most wall sconces would require a wall switch separately. We searched our website and by using the phrase “wrought iron“, and we have provided below several of the links that turned up. You can visit each particular link and when you visit the page, you can scroll down and see the different varieties of the wrought iron wall sconces available. We hope this information helps.

How To Light Up A White House Using Spot Lights

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

I am looking for spot lights that will light up my white house with deep, rich colors - blues, reds, yellows, greens and combinations when pointed at the same spot. Do you know if such a vision is possible?

Answer: All things are possible when it comes to exterior and interior designing! If this is for the outdoors, please look at our selection of outdoor spotlights or another category of lighting fixture known as the ”wall wash“. As for the colors, you can usually find colored bulbs at specialty stores or just ask at the time of ordering, depending on which light fixture you would like. Sometimes, if it is compatible, you may even utilize the old stage lighting trick of “gels”. Gels are thin sheets of heat resistant plastic that filter light into a wide variety of colors. You would find info about these at any stage or theatrical lighting fixture site.

How To Order Tech Lighting Shades

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

I want to buy matching Tech Lighting Pendant shades in chrome finish, and the Free Jack connector. Your photograph for the shade shows TWO types of chrome lamp shades. One is slightly flared (cone shaped) and the other is somewhat bullet shaped. I want the CONE shaped shade. There’s no distinguishing item number for me to select the proper shape. Can you help??

Answer: The Tech Lighting Torpedo Contemporary Pendant Light comes with just the socket cordset. For the shades, you will have to scroll down to the “Arcadian Lighting Recommends” area. This item will come with a free male jack. If you need a monopoint canopy and a 75W transformer, please go to Tech Lighting Accessories to pick your canopy.

Harp Finial Options

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

I am interested in purchasing the Meyda Tiffany Avalon Buffet Lamp, and would like some additional information. Does the lamp have a harp and finial? I would be interested in changing the shade and the one I have requires those.

Answer: We have called the manufacturer for this table lamp and they have confirmed that this lamp does have a harp and finial, thus it would be possible for you to change the shade. Harp finials are the metal pieces seen at the top of lamp shades, they usually screw on and attach the shade with the rest of the lighting fixture. They come in a variety of styles from nautical to animal prints. Some are made of brass while some are made of crystal. Sometimes harp finials can be replaced to make a lamp look extra special or decorative.

I am interested in purchasing (2) Tech Lighting 3 port flush mount canopy (800MPR3) in bronze. I need to know the diameter of the unit. How does the Tiella Tech-Sola-Head plug into the unit? The webpage only shows the head clipped to a track lighting system. Also does the Tech-Sola-Head come in bronze to match as well?

Craftmade Lamp Post Without Outlet At The Bottom

Thursday, May 24th, 2007

I have purchased an outdoor light fixture and am in need of an outdoor lamp post on which to mount it. The concerns that I have with the Craftmade item CM-Z8994 is the location of the outlet. I am looking for a post that doesn’t have the outlet at the bottom, as this will prohibit my ability to shorten the post. Do you have any recommendations?

Answer: Click on the following links to see which lamp post styles do not have bottom outlets:

Mounting For Quoizel Lighting Contemporary Mirror

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

I was wondering about the Quoizel Lighting Jasper Contemporary Mirror:

(1) Is this item able to be mounted horizontally as well as vertically?
(2) As you can see, the frame is bowed, and I assume the specs you list are for the outermost points. Is there anyway to find out what are the measurements for the narrowest points (height and width) in the bows?

Answer: Upon confirming with Quoizel Lighting, this mirror can be hung horizontally as well as vertically. As for the measurements, the only ones available are those for the widest points of the mirror. There are none available for the “bows”.
