I am in need of a flush mount ceiling light for a house boat which has to have a switch on the actual light fixture. Can you tell me if you might have something to fit this bill? Thanks!

Answer: Unfortunately, we do not carry such lighting fixture at this time. Our best suggestion for you may be to purchase a small ceiling fan with a light kit if you need a switch that it connected to the light fixture itself.

Answer: We assume you are talking about an outdoor lighting or landscape lighting application. You can consider light fixtures from our Outdoor Spotlights category. Choose from the outdoor landscape bullet-shaped lights listed under that category. To achieve the effect that you want, you can purchase narrow-spot MR16 halogen bulb. It is the bulb that makes the majority of the difference.

Hello. Does this Nora Lighting 5” IC Remodel Recessed Light Housing - NHRIC-504QAT model care if there is insulation around the housing when installed? And, do I have to remove or move the insulation away from the housing?

Answer: For the IC (insulated ceiling) model of Nora Lighting’s NHRIC-504QAT recessed lighting housing, you don’t need any clearance between the housing and the ceiling insulation. The light fixture can have a direct contact with the ceiling insulation.

I am enjoying your website. I have an old kitchen with poor lighting and I am interested in under cabinet lighting options. Does your company handle such lighting? I am wondering if installing a track lighting track would be an option, then I would be able to plug in different light fixtures. No doubt this isn’t a good idea, because the cabinet doesn’t clear the counter by enough space, but it is an intriguing thought. Would someone there be able to tell me if this is too odd to consider?

Answer: The idea is possible, but not the most practical due to higher budget needs and spacing requirement. Typically with under cabinet lighting, the light sources are hidden due to limited amount of space available, and you do not necessarily want to see the under cabinet lights themselves. However, we have seen people install miniture version of track lights or monorail under the cabinets. If you do some working at the cabinet area or have decorative pieces that you want to high light, then you might consider that. At this time, we don’t sell mini track lights or mini monorail lighting. However, that is in the plans and we should have them available later this year; but again, such application is unconventional.

If budget and spacing is an issue, we would just stick with the traditional under cabinet lighting in either fluorescent or LED technology that can change colors.

One of the available finish for Maxim Lighting Newport bathroom light is light gold. I need to have an idea of how light it looks like. Or is there any fixture that I can look at, that has a light gold color / finish? I need a light gold fixture for my faucet which has standard gold color.

Answer: Unfortunately, we do not have any samples or descriptions of this gold tone to assist you. This particular lighting fixture is being discontinued by the manufacturer but we still have some available. Here is a chandelier featuring Maxim Lighting’s light gold finish, to help you get a better idea of the finish.

I am interested in the Maxim Lighting Brentwood Kitchen Island Ceiling Light, but would like to know if the height is adjustable since my ceiling is a bit higher than usual.
