Question regarding flush mount ceiling light

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

Do you have any flush mount ceiling lights (for a kitchen) that can be operated by pull chain? Ideally energy star? We are replacing our lighting fixtures and cannot put new switches in the walls. Thanks.

Answer: Arcadian Lighting does not offer any flush mount ceiling lights that have a pull chain. We do have table lamps and ceiling fans which have light kits that have pull chains, but we do not offer ceiling flush mount fixtures with this feature.

Maxim Lighting pendant light wiring question

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

I would love to order this Maxim Pendant Light - MX-5835-FT in oil-rubbed bronze finish, but I want to hand it from a ceiling hook and plug in to wall. Is there a possibility that the pendant light could be wired to plug in rather than hard wiring?

Answer: Maxim Lighting (manufacturer) has advised us that this pendant lighting fixture can not be plugged into an electrical outlet, in which case, it can only be hard wired. We hope that this information is of help to you.

Question regarding outdoor post lantern by Designers Fountain

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

I purchased 3 Designers Fountain Nantucket Outdoor Post Lantern few years ago and they are spitting and cracking. Is this normal wear and tear? Please advise on what can be done. I am happy with the look but I am concerned that they will not survive much longer.

Answer: Most likely you will have to purchase new lanterns because if these Nantucket Outdoor Post Lanterns were purchased few years ago, then they have already passed the warranty. You may live in an area where the weather has taken the toll on these outdoor lighting fixtures. Please give Designers Fountain a call with regards to specific product info as you may not benefit from this particular lantern if it is subject to wear and tear from weather conditions.

Answer: Unfortunately, we do not make ceiling fans or downrods in Maxim Lighting’s greek bronze finish. However, Craftmade does carry a “Rustic iron” finish which is also reddish brown in color and slightly similar with Maxim Lighting’s “Greek bronze” finish.

Dabmar step light wiring question

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

I plan to use 5 of these Dabmar DSL-V Outdoor Step Light or similar landscape lighting fixtures to provide lights on a deck. The lights will be inserted into the side of the house and daisy chained w/ 110V house power.

  1. These are low voltage lights - do each include a tranformer to accept 110V. Can I daisy chain them together w/ 110 electrical wire (would be on a 15 amp circuit)
  2. The image below shows green light. Is that the bulb or some coloring in the fixture.

Answer: For the DSL-V Outdoor Step Light, these lighting fixtures are in the line voltage 120V, so no transformer will be needed. Under the Model drop down menu, you can see that it comes in different lamping options. The first for Model DSL-1014 is 40W 120V Incandescent (T10 tubular medium base). All others in compact fluorescent lamping and are still in 120 line voltage.

With regards to your second question, the green light was a special bulb that Dabmar use for photograph purposes only. The bulb which comes with this lighting fixture is yellowish-white in color. Please be advised that, bulb is included for NON-incandescent lamping option only.

Is there a way to adjust the length of this Quoizel Lighting Kool Kitchen Bistro Traditional Mini Pendant Light from 49″ to 47″?

Answer: No. The rods are in 12″ segment, so the next height down after removing 1 rod for this pendant light is 49″ - 12″ = 37 inches in height for the whole lighting fixture.
