Access lighting CETL rated lighting fixture

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

I purchased two of these Access Lighting Helius Contemporary Flush Mount Ceiling Light - AC-50420 already, and I am about to purchase at least 1 more. I would like to put one in a bathroom near the shower - but cannot tell if this is rated for the moisture in that area. Can you let me know if this lighting fixture would work in a bathroom? I assume it cannot work as an exterior light either - but wanted to check on that as well.

Answer: With regards to your inquiry, this ceiling light from Access Lighting is CETL listed and therefore can be placed in damp locations, such as a bathroom, as opposed to outside. If you should have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.

Nora lighting under cabinet lighting fixture information

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

I want to gang together (6) 48 inch Nora Lighting Ultra-Slim T5 Fluorescent Under Cabinet Fixture - NORA-NULS and place them up near the ceiling hidden behind a drape vallance. I want to leave the built in switches to the on position, and control the lights from a wall switch. Can I do that? Some fluorescent lights I used in the past needed to be turned on by the built in switch each time they were turn on and would not work they way I am describing.

Answer: As per Nora Lighting (the manufacturer), that will work perfectly okay to leave the switch on and control the line of NULS under cabinet lighting fixtures from a wall switch.

I need for this Progress Lighting Madison Transitional Kitchen Island / Billiard Light - PG-P4282 to have at least four-foot chains. Does OAH-99″ mean over all height of 99 inches? is that measured from the ceiling to the bottom of the globes? What does the ceiling mount look like? Will it fit a standard junction box easily? Are the chains easy to shorten? I would like this fixture in satin brass, is that in stock? Thank you.

Answer: The overall height of this kitchen island light from Progress Lighting is 99″, including the chain is measured from the top of the canopy to the bottom of the globe. Access lighting spot light lamping inquiry

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

Hello. We purchased 7 of the Access Lighting Zig Tusca Spot Light - AC-63301. The package and website states to use candelabra bulbs. We have used the chandelier bulbs they are too long- they protrude. The globe bulb touches the glass of the fixture - is this okay?

We are having difficulty trying to find the proper bulb. In addition, we would like to use a compact fluorescent if possible.

Answer: This spot light you have from Access Lighting, accepts 60W B10 candelabra base. B10 refers to the shape of the candelabra bulb. This is the bulb that is suggested to be used with your lighting fixture. The bulb should not surpass the glass of the fixture, so you may not be using the correct style (B10). It won’t damage the fixture if the bulb is longer though. Now, you mentioned using a fluorescent bulb, which is fine, but we do not know where you can find it. You can call one of the bulb companies and see what they would recommend in place of a 60W B10 candelabra base bulb.

You can visit this site to see pictures of this 60W B10 candelabra base bulb.

Elk lighting kitchen island light fixture adapter

Tuesday, April 1st, 2008

I am told this Elk Lighting Elysburg Transitional Kitchen Island / Billiard Light - ELK-6551-2 requires an adapter of sorts to hang it from a kitchen ceiling that essentially mirrors the roof pitch on the house in terms of its slope. Is that true? And how much cost is added there? Thanks.

Also, what would the delivery costs be on an order that includes this kitchen island light and its ceiling adapter along with Elk Lighting Elysburg Transitional Pendant Light - ELK-7644-1?

Answer: There would be no shipping costs if you are purchasing both items indicated above. To answer your question regarding the adapter, Elk Lighting - the manufacturer calls it a “hang straight” and that should come with the kitchen island lighting fixture.

Meyda tiffany ceiling light

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

Is this light Meyda Tiffany Van Erp Amber Mica Semi Flush Mount Ceiling Light - MD-27434 a flush mount or a semi-flush mount? The description says flush mount but the picture looks like a semi-flush mount. Is the base brass colored as it appears in the picture or is it antique bronze like the trim on the shade?

Answer: We do agree with you that this item is not completely flushed. However, per Meyda’s catalog, they call this flushmount ceiling light. As for the canopy, it is also in the Mahogany Bronze finish like the shade trim. We were told by Meyda Tiffany that the digital image turned out a bit lighter because of the reflection from the lamping.
