Dabmar outdoor step lights to be used indoors

Friday, April 11th, 2008

Can we use the Dabmar LV-613 Outdoor Step Light - LV-613 indoors and with line voltage? If not, can you recommend a compatible fixture that can be used indoors and with 120V line voltage? I am looking for one with a small louvered cover in bronze.

Answer: Because the fixture is in low voltage (12V) it can not be used with line voltage because it will combust. Thus, Dabmar (the manufacturer) do not recommend using LV-613 - Outdoor Step Light indoors.

Are the 12v transformers for Dabmar LV-LED20 Outdoor Recessed Step Light - LV-LED20 and Dabmar LV-LED670 Outdoor Recessed Step Light - LV-LED670 already installed from these light fixtures? If they are in the fixtures, are the transformers included in the price? If they are not attached in the fixtures, do they have to be purchased separately from you?

What color are the LED’s in each of the fixtures above? Are there any color options? How much are replacement bulbs for each of the fixtures noted above?

Answer: Dabmar outdoor step lights LV-LED20 and LV-LED670 do not include the transformers. Dependent upon the number of lights that you will be using, you would need to get a transformer that covers the total sum of wattage of the lights you are installing. The LED light option for step light - LV-LED20 are blue and white. To replace the LED, on the model LV-LED20 the model number would be DL-LED-BOARD - color (either blue or white) and the cost is $36.00. Please note that there are 12 LED bulbs in a case, so that is what you would be getting the plate with the 12 LED bulbs.

As for the LED670- there is no replacement bulb. Basically, the fixture is under warranty for 1 year, so the manufacturer will replace the whole unit should it be defective. They advised that they do not run into the problem of replacement bulbs because the LED lasts for 10,000 hours. These items are confirmed in stock and ship within 24 hours from the date of purchase.

I am looking at this Dabmar LV-LED614 Outdoor Recessed Step Light. Is the antique bronze a real bronze? or a faux finish? Does it have a sealer on it? Will it wither? And are these step lights also available to ship in 2-4 days?

Answer: This landscape lighting fixture from Dabmar is made of solid brass and it has a powered finish of antique bronze. We have confirmed with the manufacturer that this item will not wither and that there is a sealer on it (a silicone gasket between the glass and the face of the fixture). As stated on our website, once the order is placed it would leave the warehouse in the next 2-4 business days.

Dabmar landscape lighting outdoor step light

I am trying to determine if I go low voltage or 120V for approximately 12 to 15 outdoor step lights for my soon to be constructed patio made of stone. I will use them for both the steps and lights in stone wall butting the patio. I understand with LV I will need a transformer. But is there any reason why low voltage wouldn’t work even if in the future I add some lights in the flower beds?

Also, it’s also difficult to determine which step lights only work for decks and which would work for stone/brick or deck. Is there a way to determine this on your web site other than those displayed in brick or stone?

Answer: If you go with low voltage, then the number and wattage of the outdoor lighting fixtures will be LIMITED by the transformer capacity. For example, if a step light uses 20W JC type lamp and you have 10 step lights, then 20W x 10 = 200W required to power all the fixtures. A 300W transformer would provide enough wattage. You will only have 100W left to power the path light on the flower beds.

You can also consider Dabmar LV-LED650 Outdoor Recessed Step Light - LV-LED650 using LED lamps, which uses 1W to approximately 5W. These 48 integral LED lamp will last close to 50,000 hours so most likely, you will never have to mess with the lamps again. For your application, you can go with either 12V or 120V. We would recommend that you talk to your electrician to see what he recommends in terms of installation and maintenance (your brick/ stone area).

Does this Dabmar LV-LED65 Outdoor Recessed Step Light - LV-LED65 has a built-in transformer? Could we get it in brass finish? I have 120 volt going in to the recess. And we need 6 of this lighting fixture.

Friday, December 28th, 2007

I am interested in purchasing CF Outdoor Spotlights to be used in an outdoor court yard. As the lights will be used to light a wall. I am looking for lights that will be mounted in the ground. When looking at some of the photos of the Outdoor Flood Light (DM-DF-5970), it is mounted in the ground, but other photos do not show the light with a mounting stake. Does this landscape lighting fixture include a mounting ground stake or is the ground stake an option?

Dabmar path light in black finish

Friday, December 21st, 2007

I am trying to find pathlights that match some existing light poles for a client of mine, and this LV-82 Path Light (LV-82) is one of the closest I have found. But I need it in a black finish. Under finishes, it doesn’t list a black finish. If I can get it in black, we will probably be ordering 20+ of this item.

Answer: We do apologize, we do not have a black finish for this Dabmar landscape lighting fixture. However, if you are interested in just a darker finish, the Antique Bronze in this fixture is a very deep dark brown. It may suffice. Let us know if you are interested in any other options. Hope this is helpful.
