Craftmade outdoor lamp post
I am planning to purchase some outdoor lighting fixtures from your site. And, I have a question regading Outdoor Direct Burial Lamp Post (CM-Z8994). I need to have the post installed on the floor of my deck/porch. I was thinking of using this post and buying a pier mount to attach to the porch floor. The pier mount is only 3.5″ tall. Would that provide enough support for the post? What about wind?
There is a similar post Outdoor Pad Mount Lamp Post (CM-Z8984) that is already meant to be surface mounted but it costs almost twice as much. Is this the same post but with a fancier surface mount?
Answer: You will not be able to use this Craftmade post with a pier mount because the difference in diametes and because the weight of the post is much too heavy to be supported by a pier mount. What you would need to do is look into purchasing a pad mount (ex. Outdoor Pad Mount Lamp Post - CM-Z8984), which is a post that is supported by a base. We hope this information is of help to you.
