Lighting Fixtures & Lamps Questions Answered

I’m intrested in getting 6 Dabmar LV-309.

1. I can’t tell from your site if these require any kind of housing or mounting equipment for installation?
2. Can they be on a dimmer?
3. Do they use normal 110 volt?
4. Are they for new construction or renovation?

Please let me know.
I want to mount them on an overhang facing down.

Answer:

1. No, there is no special equipment to mount these.  The fixture comes with a sleeve and the stainless steel housing fits into the sleeve.  Thus, you just have to make sure that the sleeve is secured in your overhang.
2. These fixtures are only 7W.  If you add a dimmer, you can’t really dim down gradually from 7W.  Most likely, it will just become unlit all of the sudden if you control with a dimmer.
3. No, this is a low voltage 12V 7W LED lamp.  You will need to use a transformer with these fixture.
4. They are not like ceiling recessed lights, meaning that it does not need an extra housing to help with the heat issue..  It doesn’t matter because these LED bulb doesn’t dissipate that much heat.  Thus, heat is not a issue when installing up-side down.
