Hi. The description for this Del Mar Traditional Kitchen Island / Billiard Light - DF-97738-WP states that the height is 51.75″. Is this from ceiling to the bottom of the shades? If so, what it the measurement from the bottom of the chain to the bottom of the shades? Can the chains be shortened if we want to hang it a bit higher?
Answer: Hello. The measurements of 51.75″ H for this Kitchen Island / Billiard Light is the measurement from the top of the canopy (affixed to the ceiling) to the bottom of the shade. This measurement is for the lighting fixture only. The lighting fixture is supplied with 3 ft of chain which would add at most 36″. The chain itself is adjustable, but the highest this fixture can hang is 51.75″ from the ceiling.
