Can you please tell me the difference between this Wilmette by Tech Lighting Melrose Low Voltage Transitional Pendant Light - 600FJM and Tech Lighting Melrose Contemporary Pendant Light - 700FJM. I am looking for three pendant lights to hang over my island in my kitchen. I see the price difference, but wonder if I am missing something. I also realize I need a canopy for each. Is there anything else I will need? I want to make sure I have all the necessary information I need before ordering.
Answer: The main difference is the brand name, one is Tech lighting -700 the order is Wilmette-600 although Wilmette happens to be a branch of Tech Lighting. Both of them have similar glass but there are more glass color options under the 700FJM.
As per Tech lighting, the Wilmette Melrose (600FJM) is meant to meet the more antique look while the Tech lighting Melrose (700FJM) is more contemporary.

I am going to order Access Lighting Oxygen Contemporary Vanity / Bathroom Light - AC-62053 and Access Lighting Oxygen Contemporary Wall Sconce - AC-62052 soon. Which lamping do you recommend for this fixture? Generally, are halogen bulbs considered to be very hot / to put out a lot of heat and are fluorescent bulbs (as in this fixture) considered to be poor light? Thanks.
Answer: The halogen fixtures do produce a lot of heat, but are “kinder” to your bathroom light and wall sconce from Access Lighting. The compact fluorescent is energy efficient but produces a very white light where you will be able to see “flaws” a lot easier. We hope this information helps you select the lamping that suits your needs.
