Recommended transformer for Dabmar outdoor step light
I wondered if this Dabmar LV-LED612 Outdoor Recessed Step Light – LV-LED612 could be used indoor if put in by a qualified electrician. Also, since this lights use so little power and I would use 5 at most, the total load would only be 3.5 watts. Is there a transformer that is recommended? I was considering this Dabmar 40W Magnetic Buck Boost LED Transformer – DM-LVT40-A. Would that be a suitable transformer? I am just concerned the load would be so low as to damage the lights.
Answer: Dabmar (the manufacturer), advised that LV-LED612 outdoor step light can in fact be installed indoors. If the location will be going through inspection, please be advised that if the surrounding is combustible material, such as wood, a “sleeve” will need to be built prior to installation – the sleeve should be made of concrete or metal.
As for the transformer, DM-LVT40-A is the recommended transformer and since this is a magnetic transformer, there is no minimum load.
